Backpacking New Zealand is something else. It’s wild, breathtaking, and full of adventure. I spent four months living here and travelling across the country, from Auckland and the wineries of Waiheke Island, to swimming with wild dolphins in Kaikoura and exploring the resilient city of Christchurch.
Check out my South Island island itinerary, where I hiked through Abel Tasman National Park, explored the glaciers of Franz Josef and experienced the thrill of Queenstown. Or discover the North Island, including hot water beaches, glow-worm caves and the coolest little capital city, Wellington.
